Frequently Asked Questions
Why might someone participate in the Live on Purpose life coaching San Antonio process expect and what are some of its benefits?
Because this type of focused coaching has proven to be effective in assisting individuals in discovering their natural talents, helping them to pursue meaningful outcomes and a purposeful, productive, and energized life.
Working with a coach provides the client with the opportunity to gain clarity and focus on the things which matter most in their lives and help them on the journey to unleash their full potential.
The coach-client partnership has the potential to be life-changing. For many it is a transformative experience as clients identify significant goals in their lives and work with the coach to build a plan of action to go after these.
What is the Live on Purpose life coaching San Antonio approach clients will experience?
Foundational coaching principles are part of the Live on Purpose coaching process such as working attentively to establish a trusting and open relationship with clients. Coaches focus on asking key questions which help clients consider important aspects of their lives and helping them uncover insights about themselves they might not otherwise have discovered without frank, honest conversations.
Coaches serve as a change agent, encourager, and guide for clients but will not direct clients what to do. Coaches instead facilitate the discovery process, helping the client identify and forge their own path.
How is life coaching San Antonio different from consulting, counseling, and mentoring?
It can be confusing to understand the difference between coaching and other related fields. It is important to understand what to expect from each of these so a client might choose the optimal path for their needs.
Consulting depends on someone who brings specific subject matter expertise to the table. They would be sought after to solve a specific problem and operate in a mainly directive role. Although consultants bring knowledge to the table and are solution-oriented, they have fundamentally different operating models than coaches who instead help to guide the client to essentially help themselves through asking questions versus providing solutions as a consultant would.
Counseling often focuses on emotions related to life experiences in the past. Counseling serves to address these emotions and the related issues to assist a client in the healing process. Counselors are generally looking backwards with clients to diagnose and address an issue to pursue understanding and healing so a client might eventually move forward. In contrast, coaching has a forward-looking perspective, primarily focused on life goals.
Mentoring brings into play our personal experiences and fosters an environment of encouragement but often includes showing the mentee how to do something. Mentoring is also informal and focused on development and has the potential to be a longer-term relationship.
The International Coaching Federation (ICF)—the leading global organization for coaches and coaching—defines coaching as partnering in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires a person to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.
We all have goals we want to reach, challenges we’re striving to overcome and times when we feel stuck. Partnering with a coach can change your life, setting you on a path to greater personal and professional fulfillment.

Who is Live on Purpose life coaching San Antonio for?
Ideal clients for Live on Purpose coaching come from all different backgrounds with different needs and goals. Anyhow seeking to unlock the potential within themselves and reach personal goals should consider moving forward with Live on Purpose coaching services.
There are also different coaching experiences clients may consider:
For some, individual coaching serves them best. These one-on-one sessions allow for the coach to serve as a trusted advisor focused completely on the individual client, leveraging the client’s identified talents to map a path to success. The journey begins with some introspection about what matters most to the client. Together, client and coach will work to address identified blind spots, other issues, and help to clear the path for goal setting, action planning and starting on the journey forward.
In some cases, team or group sessions are appropriate. Often a formal team from a work environment will participate in a team coaching exercise. These sessions seek to uncover opportunities for teams to improve as a team, through enhanced communication, collaboration, and in other ways to meet goals and other expectations. These sessions are also meant to facilitate a better understanding and appreciation of themselves and each other, learning how each member of the team ticks, leveraging a common language and getting the most out of their collective talents to partner well and get their work done.
For youth clients, whether individual or group sessions, the experience will be highly dependent on what the parent or adult leader is seeking. Sessions for youth clients are typically customized for their specific situation and needs and advance consultation is planned to ensure all parties are on the same page.
What are the steps in the life coaching San Antonio process, so I know what to expect?
