Beach Beauty and the photos within were inspired by many trips to visit family in Wilmington, North Carolina and the surrounding area. Two special places are highlighted – Arlie Gardens and Wrightsville Beach. Arlie Gardens has a rich history, located just off the Intercoastal Waterway and contains 67 acres of trails, wildlife, and beautifully manicured gardens among other attractions. It serves as a non-profit organization serving the local community especially. Located in New Hanover Country in coastal North Carolina, it is a favorite destination to locals and tourists alike. Arlie Gardens’ history dates back to the early 1700s transformed over the years and is a treat to any nature lover. Arlie Garden also hosts special events as well as educational activities and is open year round. Favorite images include local Azaleas blooming, Camelias among the hanging Spanish Moss, and, of course the Gardens’ iconic Arlie Oak, believed to be over 400 years old and has weathered many a major storm and still stands tall.
Wrightsville Beach is just down the road from Wilmington and a local favorite as well. Originally known as New Hanover Banks, this approximately 4 mile long stretch of beach is strikingly beautiful with its white sand and clear water. It is not uncommon to see a shark, dolphin, or pelican search for breakfast if you join them at sunrise. Favorite images include the sassy Black Skimmer birds in their preserve along the beach, peaceful sunrises, and the iconic Oceanic Pier, of course.
Hill Country Beauty images capture the Texas Hill Country in different shapes of fashion. Mainly in the San Antonio and surrounding area, the popular wildflower season in March and April are the most popular. Favorites from this collection include peaceful fields of Primroses, an Alpaca or two, and, of course, Bluebonnets galore.
The Mountain Collections – Mountain Autumn, Mountain Flowers, and Mountain Majesty – are mainly images captured in the Rocky Mountain National Park and surrounding areas. This majestic scenery provides endless breathtaking images which inspire. It is true that sometimes the images simply don’t capture the beauty or do the real thing justice, but some might come close. Favorites include a peek at the Million Dollar Highway in Autumn, a host of Columbines, the Colorado state flower, and Emerald Lake sporting its winter beauty on a sunny day.
The Wonderful Wildlife collection include humorous and beautiful creature in many locations. It’s hard not to be biased toward the posting Yellow-Bellied Marmot and the Papa Elk chewing on a tasty Aspen leaf.
